  • Yeah, although my son is black, he speaks fluent Spanish that his godmother taught him, so he is "hanging" if that's what you call it, with the Hispanic fellas.  He said where he's at there only 2 white guys, 3 Chinese guys, two black guys and the rest are Hispanic (34 in his dorm)  But he said there's only one guy that he trusts enough to talk to.  I'm glad because when you watch these prison shows you see their cellmates finking on them.  So they have to be real careful about who they speak to.  Although I'm sure some of the stuff, if not all, is made up for them to get less time.  And I asked my son if anyone has tried to have sex with him, and he said no, it's a pre-trial facility, that most of the guys have just come off the street.  But that he may have that problem after he's sentenced and goes to federal prison.  But since he wasin the military, I really believe that he knows how to defend himself.  Plus he's big - - 6'4", 220.  So I think they'll all leave him alone.

  • Everyone who meets my son just loves him.  He just has that kinda shy personality that everyone just relates to.  They wonder how that happened when I have such a big mouth!  Sometimes people can't believe he's my son!

When I explain to certain people, just a few, about what he did, their first remark is:  The son I met?  I can't believe it!  I'm just glad that since he was in the military that he won't be letting anyone take advantage of him where he's at.  Because he's a very giving person, and let's face it, some of the people where he's at will try to take advantage of him.  One guy came up to him and offered him his sandwich if my son would let him make a phone call to let someone know where he was at.  and my son told him:  I know you won't get to eat again until the morning and then it's just a bowl of cereal, so you can use my phone and you can keep your sandwich.  I couldn't do that to you.

  • You too Mary.  So now we can be there for one another.  A whole yar in a fog?  Wow, I'm not looking forward to that, since it's only been a little over two months.  But I'm here for the long haul.  He's my only son and I would do almost anything for him - - well, not rob a bank.  You know what I mean!  He's only 25
